Rams
roll over Greyhounds
Lake Mary, FL (AP) -
Lyman just can't catch a break against Lake Mary. For so many
years Lyman has lost to Lake Mary, it has been at least ten years
since the last time Lyman beat Lake Mary. Things wouldn't
change this year either as the Rams defeated the Greyhounds
35-7. The game opened up as usual Rams move the ball downfield
and score off a 3 yard Perry Stewart carry. The defense would
dominate again sending Lymans offense right back off the field with
a 3 and out. Lymans defense would hold Lake Mary and force
them to punt as well. The Rams defense would have none of it
though as they sent Lyman straight back off the field with another 3
and out. Lake Mary moved the ball downfield and capped it with
a 2 yard Craig Ellis touchdown run. Lyman: 3-and-out.
Lake Mary: 3-and-out. Lyman: 3-and-out. Lake Mary, then
moved the ball downfield and scored on a 19 yard pass from Paup to
Carswell as the second quarter came to an end.
Lyman started out with
the ball first in the third quarter, and three plays and they were
out. Lake Mary took the ball moved it downfield with the
running game and some short passes and capped the drive with a 1
yard Ellis dive. Lyman: 3-and-out. Lake Mary was able to
move the ball again, but being on the field too much wore them out
and were forced to punt. Lyman turnover on downs,
4-and-out. Lake Mary 3-and-out. Then Lyman was finally
able to move the ball as Correll Stewart (no relation to Perry
Stewart) ran the ball 49 yards for a touchdown, ending the Lake Mary
defenses hopes for a shutout. Lake Mary took the ball back and
quickly tacked on another touchdown as Mike Haley scored on a 15
yard touchdown reception.
"We just
dominated tonight, we sent them on and off the field so quick our
offense didn't have enough rest to score more points," said
Lake Mary Free safety Nate Frazier. "It was another great
effort by our guys tonight," commented Coach Stanton, "but
next week will be one of our toughest challenges and we will have to
get ready all week." Lake Mary will face Orlando Evans
next week who are too undefeated on the season.
